One to One & Problem Behaviours
Training isn't about 'obedience' - it's about creating a cooperative relationship where you are able to keep your dog safe and happy" (Grisha Stewart 2013).
Classes are not for everyone. Some dogs, or their owners, can find the whole class environment unsettling and then a class is not the right place to be. Sometimes a private one to one lesson can get you started before you sign up for a class, or sometimes life is just too busy to commit to a regular slot each week.
For all of the above reasons (and probably many more!) I offer one to one private training. During a private lesson we can look at any of the training issues you may have, such as loose lead walking, coming back when called, jumping up etc. A one to one can also be useful for new puppy owners, when you can have the chance to ask any of the questions that you might not get answered elsewhere.
My ultimate goal is to improve your understanding of your dog in order to enable you both to enjoy fun, quality time together.
Sometimes our dogs display behaviours we find unacceptable which may leave you feeling stressed or embarrassed.
I will visit you in your home and take full details of your dog's history and the issues you are facing. This first visit will take around 1.5 - 2 hours and I will then recommend a course of action to begin to modify your dogs behaviour and show you how to carry out initial exercises.
Following our first meeting, a detailed report will be sent to you and there will be ongoing email and telephone support available between visits.
There may be occasions that your pet will need to have a veterinary examination to rule out a physical condition for their behaviour.
