Behaviour Problems in Dogs
It is important to understand that your dog does not see his/her behaviour as being a problem. It is humans who decide what the problem is! For example, your dog does not see anything wrong in chewing the sofa, but clearly we would prefer it if they didn’t!
Common ‘behaviour’ problems include:
- Seperation Anxiety
- Dog-Dog Aggression
This list is not exhaustive, you can add anything you like!
Association of Pet Dog Trainers
I am a member of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers). The APDT code of practice states that we will only use reward based ‘ kind, fair and effective ’ training methods. We will not use any aversive training techniques. Some common aversives are choke chains, rattle cans and sprays. Thankfully less common aversives include prong collars and shock collars. For more information on the APDT, please have a look at their website www.apdt.co.uk
