A fine powder made from the inner bark of the Red Elm tree, from the USA. This powder is rich in mucilage and is both cooling and soothing to the digestive system, or any mucous membrane. Nutritive and easy to digest, Slippery elm can be used safely and confidently for the youngest and the oldest of animals, both internally and externally as part of a poultice.
Horses: 10 to 20 grams per day (2 to 4 x 15ml scoops)
Dogs: half to one teaspoon for smaller dogs, one to one and a half teaspoons for medium and one to two teaspoons for large.
It is often worth starting at the lower quantity for this effective herb.
